Ms. Pac-Man joystick hole diameter and possible hacks in the mean time?
(1/1)

Hi Gamers

Standard questions:
a) What is the standard diameter of a Ms. Pac-man joystick need to be to remove dead zones?
b) What is the shaft length of Ms. Pac-man joystick above the control panel?
c) What is the normal thickness of Ms. Pac-Man control panel wood to be?
d) What can I do to my the response quicker/faster a quick throw? How much of a "padding" must I add below the Control Panel so that the shaft is shorter for quick throw? What must the non-standard diameter of the joystick shaft be in the control panel then?

What to do next:?
Currently I do have a custom self made control panel with diameter about 26 mm (1.01 inch).

When I move / play the joystick it is if the joystick slips when move from right to left, it also get stuck a but once moved left.

So the move from right to left, to down - slips or stuck, the reaction is not quick enough allmost a deadzone..?

So I want to fix the whole making it bigger or smaller.

My currently hole is about 28mm (1 inch and fraction 1/8), the distance from the joystick ball to control panel (joystick shat below the red ball) is about 22mm (0 inch and fraction 7/8 inches) .

The control panel about 22mm (0 inch and fraction 7/8 inch)

Will it work better if I just add a small square inside the hole (like a restrictor plate would have done but just inside the whole) to force the direction?

Or must I rather make small pathways for each direction (about 3mm) inside the control pabel hole at the bottom?
