Mame video issue
« on: June 04, 2020, 06:56:04 pm »
Yes, I know this isn't the right sub, but I'd rather post it here since most of you are more knowledgeable than elsewhere.

I recently changed my PC for my cabinet and updated my CP.  On some games, I'm getting washed out graphics but other games are fine.  Details:

Win 7 with an AMD video card (AGP slot) not onboard graphics.
Windows looks correct.
Issue occurs on both a CRT and LCD.
Mame .94 (yes, it's old but it was fine before the upgrade).
Some games I've tried include Wizard of Wor, Ms Pac Man, Defender are all fine.  Metal Slug, all Golden Tees, and Puzzle Bobble are washed out.
The issue occurs both in Mala and via command line.
I've deleted mame.ini and recreated it without it resolving it.

Besides swapping video cards or updating Mame to a different version, any suggestions?  HLSL wasn't added until later so that's not it.

Thanks.

Sounds like your gamma settings are off.  Also deleting your mame.ini won't help because that's for global settings and you are only having problems with certain games.  Try deleting the cfg and/or ini file for an offending game and see if that helps.

I tried those suggestions without success.  I swapped out the video card and tried another.  Maybe it was a driver issue but the issue is resolved now. Tha is for the help.
