Megatouch ml-1 freezing issue
« on: May 29, 2020, 01:41:42 pm »
Recently got a megatouch ml-1 for a great deal. I have played megatouch machines forever but have no experience working on them. When the machine plays lower resolution games it works great. When I play the higher resolution games or two player games, the machine starts to have to work harder and freezes about every 20 seconds. On some occasions it freezes and then has to reboot. Have no idea what the problem is. Any ideas?  Thanks ahead of time.

It could either be the garbage 5400 rpm sata drive going, or your GFX daughter board is over heating. I would check to make sure the fans are spinning.

Thanks for responding. As far as I can tell, there are three fans. One up top, one towards the bottom, and one on the motherboard. The fan on the mother board isn’t spinning. Not sure if it is supposed to spin 24/7.

Its absolutely should be spinning 24/7. Do not run the machine until you replace that fan, or you are going to have a very big paperweight.

Again...thank you for responding. I apologize, I am a noob when it comes to this stuff. Are you saying just the fan needs replaced and not the entire motherboard?

Im saying the reason you are having freezing issues is because your Motherboard is overheating due to that fan not working anymore. If you continue to run the ML-1 without that fan cooling the motherboard down, its going to die.

The fan will work upon first turning the power on. But after about 20 seconds, it stops and does not come back on. Tried to order a new fan but the plug harness was too big. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
