SORHP:

I need a little help please, I’ve had this setup for several years, and sometimes when starting up the machine the monitor goes out of sync, My solution has been to restart the machine until the sync fixes itself and everything looks normal.

I’m using an arcadevga5000, wells Gardner 27”k7000 , Windows xp, hyperspin front end

Does anyone have a good solution to fix this ?

SORHP:

Bump it up

Has this always happened, or has it just started? I thought the AVGA BIOS wouldn't allow this, so maybe there's a problem with the card.

It's only during startup, or does it never give s stable image even once windows loads? Have you tried plugging in an LCD to see if it's not just the card failing? Of course it might be the card failing anyway...

I think that moving your monitor's horizontal sync trimmer from the actual position will fix. It's likely that your monitor sync-in circuit (or your card sync-out...) has drifted over time and now it's borderline. Move the trimmer and you will be good for years.

And/or the trim pot itself is bad.  I see a lot of K7000's with bad trim pots, especially the ones on the remote adjustment board.  and if you have a remote adjustment board re-flow the solder on every joint, paying close attention to the connector solder joints.
