ROMs not appearing in Mala

I had recently setup mame and Mala, but even after I created a xml file through Mala, the ROMs had not shown up in Mala. It always says
--- Quote ---No games were added! Review collection options and ensure using CML file (produced by Mame) is > .84
--- End quote ---
. The games appear and run in mame, so I need to figure out how to make them appear in Mala. Thanks for any help.
