Author Topic: Robotron 10-million points run attempt - live on Twitch.tv 04/09/20 (Read 4908 times)

Setting up my cabinets for live streaming is something I've been wanting to do for a while now. I managed to pick-up all the neccesary gear to get clean A/V out of an arcade cab and streamed live online with cameras and a mic embedded in the feed.

I've got my Robotron Cabaret wired up and outputting the A/V to a capture card in my PC, at the same time of being fully functional for gaming. The format will be 3 inputs into the stream, 1. the Game Capture, 2. Control Panel Camera showing what my hands are doing, 3. Behind the Shoulder View Camera as if you're standing behind me at an arcade.

The initial plan is to do a weekly stream on twitch.tv playing original, non-emulated games, either on the Arcade cabs or on Consoles. Later I plan on expanding this to 2 nights a week, and the second night will feature me doing artwork for arcade art commissions, pixel art/animation, or artwork that is for my portfolio.

My first stream is going to be a 10-million points attempt at Robotron. This will be a longer stream than what I want to do regularily, this should run me about 2.5 hour -- approximately.

Stop on by my channel this Thursday, April 9th 2020 @ 9PM PST for some high-paced Robotron action!

That's going to be ---smurfing--- rough considering I have to work at 3:30am on Friday. Maybe I will bring the beer to work and just stay there on Thursday night. We have better internet there anyways.

Oh the tank stages are my favourite! It forces me to play agressively, you really got to keep them mid to short ranged to you otherwise their shots are going to be too fast to dodge and you have to contend with bouncing shots of the walls. I usually just rush them down.
One of the best feelings in this game is getting a clear on the Tank stages without dying. I hope to show you guys that tomorrow night.

Cool... So you're going to stand the whole 2.5 hours? I can't do that anymore. I developed some type of weird nerve irritation in my left leg from playing too much and had to switch to a stool. It was really weird the muscle would get in pain while I was playing and then later it would feel like a phone was vibrating in my pocket and I'd check and there's no phone... Took about 2 months for it to go away after I switched to a stool.

I am ready. I am going to get some sleep. I take my responsibility to this forum seriously.

I have to be at work at 3:30am CST.

I called everyone at work and told them I would be done early on Friday.

I am going to go in to work and watch the live stream there. That way I can drink all night and set the example as vice president of my company by showing up to work on time in the morning.

This is going to be fun.

Opt you are a great guy and a great Robotron player.

But you are really killing me by doing this so late on a Thursday night.

Hopefully you can do the next one on the weekend. I would rather get drunk at home with my kids present...like a civilized human being.

Not a bad stream for my first time. I was a little nervous at the start, trying to figure out what to say, but ended up getting comfortable right away.

Didn’t hit 10 mill, but I got up to 8.3 on my 3rd run.

Thanks everyone for tuning in. It was a lot of fun! I’m looking forward to the next stream, hopefully a little earlier in the day.
