I've got a service manual for my weird Proton 602m monitor that needs recapping, and it does list all the caps and what values they ought to be, as well as voltages and tolerances. What I'm wondering is, if there isn't an exact match on some place like Mouser or Digikey, how can I substitute? Am I right in assuming that going for a higher voltage or a lower/tighter tolerance is acceptable in most cases? The manual does mark some caps as safety-sensitive and I understand that those should only be replaced with exact matches to avoid things like x-rays. Anything else I should know?
