I haven't touched this in years...
« on: March 03, 2020, 08:43:17 pm »
I built my cab about 12 years ago using resources from all the wonderful people on this site. It was more or less a set it an forget it affair. Unfortunately, the PC died 2-3 years ago and when a PSU didn't fix it, I more or less let it collect dust.

Now I have a "new" system hooked up, but absolute all the config is gone. Well, not gone, but irrelevant? The old build was an AMD box with XP. This is a i7 with W10. I managed to pull all the data off the old HDDs, but between changes in the os, updates to the programs, and me forgetting more or less everything... I'm at square one.

I have two UltraStik 360s with an LEDblinky board. I was using mame (like 0.11) with mala, which now seems to be defunct. It also seems that LEDblinky... and most front ends for that matter, now require purchasing?

Can someone give me the TLDR on what I've missed/forgot in the last decade? What's the best place to re-start from that'd support the sticks and ledblinky that won't take night classes to understand how to configure?

Thanks for any suggestions!

:'( I too recently had my XP computer die. I bought a fast new computer and unfortunately Windows 10 is giving me issues using an older program, only letting me use one controller at a time. The problem is that Windows 10 designates a single controller to use with what it considers an older program, which is super frustrating because all my configurations were complete and I don't want to update the software because it was so much work in the first place.

I think I was using version 128 of Mame and I'm using the latest version of Mala.

Mala 1.74 is the latest full release.  1.82 is the latest beta.
I have the files you are looking for stored one my OneDrive. This frontend might be old, but it is super powerful, easy, and customizable. Wish they would have continued working on it.

Mala 1.74 (all files including the Layout Editor, Layout Converter, etc.)
