I have the same problem... no matter how careful I am I usually lift a trace when I'm desoldering something old. I think I need to get a proper pump. |

If I weren’t trying to save the chip, I could have just cut it out, put in the socket and a new CPU which would have made life easier. I’ll probably do that next time, if possible. Still, it just took time and a little patience, and it worked out in the end. |
