2020 Chuff thread - A new decade of chuffyness! |

Long story short: A water line broke off in our bathroom vanities while we were on vacation. This proceeded to pour water everywhere which reached our basement, master bath and master bedroom destroying much of the stuff we had stored where the block wall is wet in the center of the picture. The only reason I'm posting this in the chuff thread is because if you look in the far right corner of the below picture you can see where I had my CNC'd Star Wars cab still in pieces stuck in a corner. The water stopped just shy of where the mattress is sitting in front of the cab. If the water would have traveled 2 more feet I would have lost $600.00 worth of a new cab that wasnt even built yet. |

Wow! I have never seen a flexible connector break like that before. I know some people turn their water off when going on vacation because of things like this. I have in the past and this may make me do that every time now. I hate turning it back on though. Then you usually have to clean all the aerators (where I live at least). J_K_M_A_N |

You know, it almost makes you wish they'd put some kind of automatic cut off on the line. I mean, say 2-3 hours of full tilt water running and you have to go hit a reset button. How hard could this be? We've all got horror stories like this. |

The exact same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago.... water line in the kitchen just snapped. Now luckily I was home at the time but wtf man? How does a stainless steel line just break like that in the summer time? |

I had a rubber washer go bad on a toilet tank this year. Came home to an inch of water in my bathroom and hallway. It sucked. |
