Help with how to attach an Aim Trak with recoil to a Cab
« on: January 13, 2020, 12:59:10 am »
Hi! This is my first post! Nice to finally meet everyone!

Any who, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with attaching my Aim Trak.  I've noticed that many members mount a Neutrik to plug USB cables into their cabs, but I haven't come across much information with how anyone attaches the power supply cord if their Aim Trak has the additional recoil feature.  The best I've found is this picture (from Paradox Arcades, I think).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Depends if you want them detachable or not.

If you want to detach them you will need to either find a panel mountable extension that fits the power plug or drill a hole in tge cabinet and put the socket from the psu through and seal it in place.

If you dont want to detach them you can do what I did and just drill a 20mm hole in the cab (mines under the CP) pass the cables through then fill in and paint.

Thanks for the reply!

Putting the cable permanently underneath the CP is an interesting idea...
But, if I did want to make it detachable, just for flexibility sake, what kind of mountable extension should I be looking for? I really like the port that is in the TMNT arcade.  It looks like everything would just neatly and easily plug in and out...

You just need a panel mount socket like this one.

Idealy one with the same spec as your gun one, if not you would need to change the plug to.
