Hi Calamity,
I've a small request... Not so small really...
Pls can U release a New version of Crt emudrivers
Based on adrenalin 19.12.2 or later Pls...
Unfortunaly previous adrenalin version have very big problems with supermodel emulator (Ian the authors has speak with AMD drivers team too) and the older Crimson version Unfortunaly don't support vulkan that Unfortunaly is necessary for the latest Cxbx version..

From what I understand it is a tremendous amount of work to update these driver sets which is why it doesn't happen often.  I would be willing to contribute towards funding Calamity's time for a new update as well just to get better vulkan support.

As said it's a lot of work. I'd like to release a version per year at least. I'm currently working on an update of Switchres which has been postponed for too long. I won't be able to focus on CRT Emudriver for some months.

It's a shame about AMD drivers.

What I've done is downloaded the exact driver that is patched, for instance for my R7 250 I use the 18.5.1 driver and install that first. Then I install the CRT EmuDriver afterwards. I know have Vulkan usuable as well as the features from CRT EMudriver like VMM functional.

Interesting, do you mind helping me with a r380x?  Are you saying download an official adrenaline set that works with my card, install the package and then emudriver on top?  I'll give it a shot if that's all that is to it.

Whats the issue with supermodel emulator?
Just out of curiosity. In my setup sega rally 2 has some graphic flaws but always thought its an emulator issue, not a drivers issue.
Could anyone elaborate a bit please?

Supermodel works very slow on the adrenalin drivers, on win7 x64, unless you use the legacy engine. Not sure about win10 compatibility.

I have similar problem with cemu, in my case testing 1.7.2b version with major vulkan improvements.

The vulkan driver 18.5.1 outdated makes visual glitches. I find this workaround with perfect results now.

 1-Download latest drivers
 2-Expand vulkan files, in my case: amdvlk32.dl_, amdvlk64.dl_, vulkan32.dl_, vulkan64.dl_, vulkaninfo32.ex_, vulkaninfo64.ex_
 3-Replacing files of system32 and syswow64.
     3.1) amdvlk32.dll and amdvlk64.dll
     3.2) amd-vulkan32.json, amd-vulkan64.json
     3.3) renaming vulkan32.dll to vulkan-1.dll, vulkan64.dll to vulkan-1.dll, vulkaninfo64.exe vulkaninfo.exe

I don't know if this method is avaible with opengl...

Hi! I do the same method for OpenGL. In my case i don't notice better performance in supermodel emulator, maybe my GPU isn't so good (ATI 7750).
 
Yuhuuu i tested rev729 and its 60fps perfect! Maybe latest wip it's the problem    (*)

(*) Seems superior wip revisions from 729 lose performance...at least with my gpu.

CEmu now crashes, Dolphin says it can't load the Vulkan drivers and Retroarch is also crashing. So is there anything else in order to get the Vulkan drivers updated?

... on the topic of Emudrivers update I wanted to say: please wait for RDNA 3 / RX 7000 series (or whatever they'll call it) by the end of 2021.
Updating drivers for current GPUs would be nice but it's good to also consider the additional newer hardware support they're supposed to bring.

if Mr. C updated Emudriver now (up to RDNA 2 same architecture as the new consoles), the added GPUs on the list would all be of the meh 'interim' generations, even the current~newest RX 6000 series clumsily introducing the new features, is meh.
While the next will almost certainly be more accomplished both soft-and-hard-wise.
For us I think RDNA 3 GPUs will be like the R7 and R9 series of the future.

That would be a great idea! The lack of newer Vulkan files is really hurting, since a lot of apps (Retroarch, for example) only work with newer versions.

Where could i download these (atig6pxx.dll, atig6txx.dll,atiglpxx.dll,atio6axx.dll)  files will i be abel to run Supermodel 60fps fullscreen with the latest crt emudriver adrenalin 18.5.1

I installed the crtemudriver crimson 16.2.1 i noticed i cant access the AMD settings driver (with adrenalin i could go into the settings so i can do some colour adjustments etc.)
SuperModel runs smooth fullscreen but i cant get my Crt desktop resolution at 640 x 480.
Only max 300 x 240.   

Supermodel works but fullscreen is stretched because i think of the small max desktop 300 x 240 resolution.
Is there any way to get the crt desktop res to run at 640 x 480 manually ?

You need pass arguments to emulator, i prefer play with progressive. Example of my "run.cmd" command

In the SUperModel UI the res is set to approx 300 x 200. But the fullscreen remains stretched the insert coins is almost visible at the bottom of the 21 tv

After some install (uninstall) attempts when i uninstalled the crt emudriver 2.0 crimson 16.2.1 i constantly got bluescreen of death errors whenever i tried to install the base amd driver.
Had to do System restore to fix that thank god.
When  uninstall the driver i use AMD cleaning tool which uninstalls in safe mode but i wanted to test various amd drivers (crt emudriver)   
 i installed AMD crimson 17.11.4 first then i did crt emudriver 2.0 crimson 16.2.1  , but it disabled the Amd 17.11.4 driver so i couldnt access AMD settings config anymore.

WIth the adrenalin crt emudriver , i could access the AMD 18.5.1 driver settings

Im really carefully now i will wait some more days before i mess with it again.

You was able to make Supermodel to run with emudriver 2.0 adrenalin driver with replacing of these driver files in the comments

From what driver version ? Adrenalin 18.6.1 ? and then replaced them

Otherwise i hope to See a Crt emudriver Update soon which fixes the Supermodel probs

Ok thanks will need to install the crtemudriver adrenalin driver again , had some probs with when i almost messed up installing , unistalling doing different drivers , it really gave me probs when i uninstalled the crtemudriver crimson 16.2.1.

It didnt recognize my GPU card anymore , man glad system restore restored it again where GPU is recognized

I will try it Supermodel version you mentioned , weird that that version is running & the latter versions dont work.

Then with the newer Versions of Super model it has something that crtemudriver doesnt seem to like.

This method worked for me on my Win 7 64bit OS, But with My Win 10 64bit HDD it didnt work , i installed the vulkan runtime files it only worked short after reboot distort crt everytime

Win10 only had the vulkan-1.dll & vulkaninfo.exe in x86 & x64 Windows folder

I have no speed issues with super model and the standard calamity drivers.

Here is what I do

Windows 10 (latest version)
Tri sync crt auto switching
Emudriver
Manually add modelines for 496×384 (model 3 medium resolution)
Run super model passing the 496×384 resolution parameter. The crt switches to medium resolution and the games play fine. Arcade perfection!

You do the same thing with the m2 emulator. Set the resolution in the m2 config file to 496×384

With your updated driver, do we have to launch "VulkanRT-1.3.216.0-Installer.exe" or the classic "setup.exe" is enough ?

Just tried the swapping method  Replacing files of system32 and syswow64.
      3.1) amdvlk32.dll and amdvlk64.dll
      3.2) amd-vulkan32.json, amd-vulkan64.json etc.   
With the files from 18.5.2 package restarted but still distorted on my crt.

Or do i have to replace the crt emudriver 18.5.1 completely with your package by running setup ?

If it can help you, i use DDU from guru3d to uninstall previous crtemudriver, and after reboot i install psakhis's crtemudriver.
At last it's working flawlessly with vulkan (thank you psakhis) ! I didn't try opengl as i don't use this backend in any of my emulators...

I installed psakhis modded driver on my windows 10 machine and radeon 7850. everything works fine! I have AMD Radeon Relive installed as well. Both Vulkan driver and Vulkan API have been updated after installing this modded driver.

Now Retroarch cores that use Vulkan are blazingly fast as well as the latest PCSX2 which uses Vulkan is silky smooth.

Hey! I just tried and successfully ran Dolphin core in Vulkan in Retroarch 1.12.0. Btw, it seems that Dolphin in latest Retroarch works in d3d11 as well. The picture is off-centered a little bit but not a biggie.

Asking that because i have a Radeon 7450 with still has vga port,  and i´m very exited to test this modified driver to test with retroarch 1.13, specialy with pcsx2 via vulkan

Excelent, on my other cab i used an 5450 just like that, thru an adaptaer dvi>vga, i tought on those modern cards that will be no more dvi-a anymore, so seems some of them still can do this.
How about patch your 7850 with atom15 did you tried ?

You can go upto Radeon 380x and some of those cards have analogue DVI output also. Yes, I have patched my 7850 with Atom15 and I can get into my BIOS, but be warned that modern UEFI BIOS will not work even if video card is patched with Atom15. Solution to this is to attach a VGA or LCD monitor to VGA output on your motherboard and then you can enter and see the BIOS settings.

Ohh that´s a penny, basicaly i was trying to get more performance from that card using a more updated driver, my ideia were on the pcsx2 and RPCS3, but with your discovery i think i will get no benefit installing those modded drivers, because my 7450 will not be on the list of vulkan support. Anyway will give a try installing those new drivers, just to see if i get any improvment.

I installed the driver today and initially i was having some trouble with 640x480. I had to change vertical sync pulse in arcadeosd to get a distortion free signal, but i believe i had similar issues with calamity's driver, honestly can't remember, it's been a while since i updated. I use a VGA to S-Video adapter (vilena) so my setup is a little unusual. Anyways after figuring this out, everything is working great now!

Dreamcast through flycast emu under RetroArch works much better on my system with Vulkan. In OpenGL it's stuttering a lot when there is too much going on on screen but with Vulkan - buttery smooth. Dolphin and Duckstation are also running great with Vulkan

in the end the 6600 is probably one of the most widespread 'affordable' modern GPUs these days

dunno what will become of lower end 7000 series to come but anyway the new generation is not very appealing, whether it's red or green team (or blue)

(except maybe if you're filthy rich and can afford a 4090 but that's none of our concern here)

anyway, if an Emudriver update is still on the scheduled future todo, it'd be good to include at least those 6000 series, after all.

This trick also works with Crtemudriver Crimson 16.2.1 for GCN? I Have R9 380X card and i would like to run vulkan and start supermodel at the same time without slowdowns...

Why 16.2.1? I think R9 380X are 18.5.1 compatible.

because with adrenaline I had read about problems with Supermodel and Demul, but if it's the only solution to have working vulkan I'll try to replace the crimsons. psakhis did you make a modified version of the drivers for windows 7 x64 too?

what problems? AMD cards get slowdown on Supermodel sometimes, but for me the fix is to enable/diasble opengl_triplebuffering. Which is done by installing the Radeon Settings file that goes with the driver from Calamity's site.

Supermodel is slow on AMD cards for knowed bad performance on some opengl functions. On windows i have this options to bypass it
"-legacy3d -quad-rendering -ppc-frequency=66 -true-hz"

Yes, it works with supermodel actual version. On GroovyArcade, Linux AMD drivers are better and this isn't needed.

you shouldn't need to fall back to the -legacy3d option if you can enable opengl_triplebuffering, remember.

Since i updated my win10 with latest windows updates and all emulators to latest, i'm not able to use anymore vulkan driver in emulators (Pcsx2, retroarch flycast and parallei) with my HD7850. I tried to reinstall your driver but it's still the same...
Do you have an idea what could do the trick ? Until i did those updates, your driver was working perfectly for vulkan...

Is there any drawback against installing the official Emu Driver? If there isn't, why Calamity hasn't made of it the official version as he proposed here?

I reply to myself as i may have found a clue about what is happening. Problem come from updating my emulators. Regarding Pcsx2, since version 4886, it seems they use newer functions in vulkan than before. In log this is what i found : "Vulkan: Missing required extension VK_KHR_push_descriptor. Failed to create GS device".
Pcsx2 versions older than 4886 work OK.
I guess it's the same thing with newer cores of flycast and parallei in retroarch.

Psakhis, is there a way to update vulkan version included in your modded driver to meet new requirements ?
