Better than nothing, but still kinda crummy.

This cabinet is so close to being a hit. This one is the best candidate for a 60-n-1 conversion to include 1 center mounted 4 way joystick.

I didn’t realize the pepper buttons were so low. Man, that CP is ass. I’m with Lew. This one should have been so sweet.

This whole cabinet is an example of poor planning.

Totally agree....

The controls should always be for the featured game. Someone, somewhere, should have said no.

This whole cabinet is an example of poor planning.

Even with all the other questionable (bad) calls on this machine...

Nobody who has a clue about design and gives a wet crap about gameplay would ever put 4 joysticks on a machine the size of these things.

It absolutely relegates it to a child's toy.
Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

It's 4 joysticks for 2 players ( not a 4 player setup ! ) - So only need to be able to fit 2 people on the machine - which there is plenty of room for unless you both weigh over 300Lbs. !

You have no idea about this machine or why it came out.

The CEO of the company wanted a Karate Champ machine. It uses 2 joysticks for 2 players.
Burgertime was an afterthought.

They changed the design, because a lot of people wanted the Burgertime artwork.

Thats why it came out. You must not know much about the arcade games, or you wouldn't
have thought that.

Sorry to bother you negative1

I read the whole thread so I was aware of what you saw fit to repeat.

If the CEO loved Karate Champ that much then why is it a Burgertime machine that plays Karate Champ instead of the other way around?
The afterthought is the marquee game?  Doesn't make sense to me at least.

If the CEOs desire really IS the reason (excuse?) this machine exists, it would appear that if anyone doesn't know/care about arcade games it would be the people at Arcade1Up who asked for/allowed that machine to be produced as it was- CEOs opinion be damned.

I could repeat all the aforementioned shortcomings in support of that perspective, but an apparently prevailing sentiment need not be perseverated on in my opinion.

And I would apologize for not knowing enough about arcade games to have a valid opinion, but-

I did play Burgertime a LOT in middle school- and Karate Champ happens to be the only "fighter" I have ever played- when I was in high school and it was new.

And with assistance from a number of helpful people here I have designed and built a few machines myself also.

So I might know a little something about them.
