Super Off Road Mame Pedestal
« on: January 05, 2020, 09:59:35 pm »
I just wrapped up my super off road mame pedestal build. Running hyperspin front end. Originally tried to use a uhid controller for all the controls, but kept running into issues. Ended up using an optipac and apac. I also used a pacdrive to have flashing police lights in Chase HQ and APB.

What monitor is that for the marquee?

Do you have any plans for this pedestal? I am like 1/2 done but really love that marquee display

Very cool!

I did a driving game. Never again. The game list for accurate controls is really small. Your setup looks like you could play Super Sprint and Off Road faithfully. You are playing Demolition Derby looks like - what are you using for the shifting functions on the other games.

The marquee isn’t a monitor. If you pm me your email I can share some plans that the pedestal was based off of. I
Made some changes outside of the plans as I was completing the build

Rob1234,
Would you mind messaging the plans you spoke of? I was also wondering how games look on TV? Do you have scanline, etc settings that cuts down on pixelation?
Thanks!

Hate it when pictures get squished...

And this build is freakin awesome!
 :applaud:

Was implementing shifters here a nightmare (physical space, input drama, cost...?) or did you choose not to for some other reason?
I know it is a slippery slope because of how many kinds it turns out there are, so just wondered what you learned on this machine.

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools! I can fix it.

I dream of a super sprint build, really nice.

Have you compiled a list of how many games this supports and can you share it?

Had you considered adding a shifter to at least the middle player so that you can add in additional support for games like Pole positon?
