All I want to do is play TRON. I have an IPAC-2 encoder and a spinmarc both from ultimarc I only have one rom. TRON. Whit the spinner plugged in the mouse moves side to side. I can get it to configure in MAME64 . Even with mame running it still just moves the mouse.
Spinner moves mouse cursor L/R (X Axis) = spinner is working correctly.
Launch TRON game then hit TAB. (Menu)
Go to the "Inputs (this Game)" menu.
P1 joystick Up/Down/Left/Right should already be mapped.
"P1 Button 1" should already be mapped.
"Dial Analog" should already be mapped to "Mouse X".
- If not, arrow down until "Dial Analog" is highlighted, press ENTER (change this input), then turn the spinner. (map the spinner to this input)
- If "Mouse X" does not map to"Dial Analog", you'll need to create/edit the mame.ini file to enable mouse inputs.
Map "Dial Analog Inc" and "Dial Analog Dec" to "none".
- Highlight it, press ENTER (change this input), then press ESC. (map this input to "none")
- Inc and Dec are only used to create fake mouse or analog commands using pushbuttons.
-----------
Two ways to generate mame.ini:
(close MAME first)
1. Open a "Command Line" window, navigate to the MAME folder, and type "mame.exe -cc" (create config) to generate a mame.ini file.
- If needed, change "mame.exe" to match your MAME executable program.
2. Make a shortcut to your MAME executable program.
- Edit the properties of the shortcut so it launches "mame.exe -cc" instead of "mame.exe".
- Launch the shortcut to generate a mame.ini file.
-----------
Edit the mame.ini file:
- Open it in Notepad.
- Go to the core input options section and change mouse from 0 (disabled) to 1 (enabled).
# CORE INPUT OPTIONS
#
coin_lockout 1
ctrlr
mouse 1
joystick 1
lightgun 0
multikeyboard 0
- Save file and exit.
-----------
Launch mame again, map the spinner to "Dial Analog" and you're good to go.
