Hantarex Polo B+ 164V with flyback connected.. (SOLVED)
« on: December 17, 2019, 10:53:14 am »
Hi

Another Hantarex repair....

I have tested my PSU with a 40W bulb at pin3 on flyback, all my PSU volts are OK
B+ 145V (TP6)
TP10 11.2V
TP8 25V
TP9 17V
TP31 28V

But when i connect the flyback (solder pin3) then my B+ is 165V

I have changed C112,C114
IC104 (HOT) is 165V at center leg
Tested that I have 11.5V at IC104 pin1
Tested T113, R219 and R222

Update

Also changed flyback to a brand new one, still High B+

Also changed C172,C174,C170,C183 (poly caps) to new, still high B+
Also changed HOT (T114), still high B+

Went back to check the resistors... R222 according to manual 0.51 ohm..
When i test It I get 1.6 ohm.. can it be the issue?

If you have b+ at the HOT collector, then you have no horizontal drive. R222 is not open (which would explain the lack of horizontal drive) so I don't think it's where the problem is. Maybe your meter adds some resistance. If you remove the parts coupled to the HOT collector what's the b+?

Hi

I do not get it  :dizzy:
All my volts are spot on when I use a dummy load.
When i connect the fly (new one) my b+ is 170V

I guess that I am missing my horizontal drive, and it is on IC104 pin3

I have checked all the components marked with green dot.
(C171 330n 630v is not on my chassis)

I assume that my horizontal drive is all the components on pin3 at IC104, IC104 is also replaced with a new IC.

It where the TH102 that where bad

Compare it with a working one, the two legs where 27,1 ohm 129.5mH
The bad one where 29pf

The last two legs where 0.00 ohm on both

I have now put in a working Th102 - and my B+ is stable with flyback mounted 145V  :applaud:

BUT I have no picture, if I turn the screen volt nearly all the way up, I can see a verry blurry white on the screen, and it is in the center of the screen??!?
It is like the screen volts are all low, and no focus is possible... hmm

Just to finish this also :)

The chassis is fixed!

1. The high B+ with fly connected, a bad TH102

2. the shaky/blurry image when i turned on -> solution, just turn the screen volt down on the fly.  :laugh2:  :banghead:
Then adjust the pot so the image fitted the screen.

 :applaud: :applaud: :notworthy:

Hi

Just to finish this up

I had an extra look at the broken TH102 - it where just the one wire on the coil who where corroded.
Fixed it with some wire from a small resistor, now I have a workin TH102  coil  :applaud: :applaud:
