Crisis on Infinite Earths
« on: December 09, 2019, 11:51:30 pm »
So the CW super hero shows aren't great, but some of them are pretty decent.  I watch the Flash and if there's nothing better on Supergirl.  Their cross-overs thus far have been kind of awful but they are killing it this time with Crisis.  The first Episode is pretty meh, but the second is near perfection.  Aside from some awkward "cw heart to heart" scenes it was jam packed with references and Easter eggs.  I mean it featured Tom Welling with a fitting farewell to Smallville, Kevin Conroy as an older Batman and Brandon Roth, taking up his and Christopher Reeves Superman story one last time.  I figure this isn't on the top watch list for most of you so I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but you guys might get a kick out of it.  Tomorrow part 3 premieres... I believe it's a 5 part deal, with the conclusion airing after the Christmas break.  The actual plot isn't great since it's CW, but watch it for the easter eggs.  They even had Burt Ward for a quick cameo in part 1.

I will probably watch this.  I hate-watch some of these awful CW superhero shows when I don't feel like paying attention.  Legends of Tomorrow might be the worst show in the history of TV yet I keep watching it.

I watched Arrow when it first came out. Then the Flash started. Then they started crossing over. Then Legends started. I threw in the towel.

I just don't want to commit that much time to television.

didn't know it started.
I so do not watch that much TV.

I watch these.
My favorites are Flash and Black lightening right now.
though the recent black lightening story line is starting to get old.

arrow sort of painted itself into a corner.

supergirl is hit and miss for me and bat girl is the same.

Arrow - Seasons 1-3 are good.  The rest are OKish.
The Flash - Seasons 1 and 2 are good.  The rest are OKish.
Legends of Tomorrow - entire show is hot garbage but entertaining so maybe it's good?
Supergirl - Season 1 is good.  Season 2 is OK and Season 3 is AWFUL
Bat Woman - haven't seen
Black Lightning - haven't seen
Gotham - haven't seen

Like Mike said - it's too much.

I watched 3 episodes of Supergirl.  Hey, the actress was pretty in that possibly obtainable on the luckiest day of my life way.  By the end of episode 3, it was a vast underground space alien empire running the world and I was done.

*sigh*

I start out by saying that the shows aren't great and then you all reply by saying they aren't great.  I suggested you watch the crossover, not the entire lexicon of the cw arrowverse.  I've never watched a single episode of arrow, which, in theory, is the most important show and I manage to follow along ok.

I am expressing my disappointment that a hot blond in a short skirt was insufficient to keep me watching.  I'm sorry if my ruminations offended thee.

I am shocked that a thread on this forum veered off the course that the OP intended. Somebody should do something about this. I apologize profusely to you Howard for this most distressing turn of events. I hope you will be okay.

She wears pants now and I'll be honest, I didn't watch last season until the break due to said pants.  Supergirl wears a skirt, Superman wears red underwear over his pants and that's just how it's supposed to be.  Now they've gotten rid of both.

Yeah, soon as a show hits season 2 or 3 they think they can negotiate and the tits stop coming out. Ruins everything.

ok, i turned on my TV tonight and fired up the CW app and saw Crisis concluded.
I liked how they used the original story line as an excuse to merge all the universes together for TV.
I really like the black lightening actor and character.

Not even bothered by the role call for the Justice league based on my memory of the super friends cartoon from the late 70's.
Probably because the writers geeked out and introduced Gleek at the end.

If you watch the individual series, they are using it as a tool to fix all the corners they painted themselves into over the years.  Meta humans no longer have to be birthed from the anti-matter explosion at star labs... so super powered people can just show up now.  There are aliens on this new earth prime, so again, more villain options for the flash and co.  Lex Luthor is now in a timeline where he was a good guy, so he's no longer public enemy #1 and thus able to scheme again.  Also they seem to be unaware of the other earths in the new multi-verse, so "that guy is dead so we'll just get another from an alternate earth" no longer works as a plot resolution.

For the CW they did a good job and giving og Superman a happy ending was a nice touch.
