Wii in arcade cabinet, Using buttons
« on: September 29, 2019, 08:26:17 am »
I have a working arcade cab running a old PC that needs updating. I also have an old Wii sitting around and I was wondering whether or not I could use that. Some googling & it would seem so.
My question is, on my current arcade cab I have my buttons hooked up via aniPac which then USBs to the PC.
I'm controlling my button lights using a ledwhizz.

Can I use either of these with the Wii or if not these something on the market, or do I need to buy a dedicated joystick thing that I'd then have to fit to the cab that already has buttons?

Appreciate any ideas?

I have a modded Wii. I'd say ditch the wii and use a pi. You have more options to use things like external controllers.

If you insist on the Wii, you'll be doing some trailblazing as it's not a method that I know of anyone else taking, so there won't be lots of well worn paths to follow
