Current state of Lightguns for CRT

What's the current state of lightguns on crt?
Want to build a cab but can't find much information.

Best gunmodel? OS? Crt 15k or 31k?

I see that we might have a new guncon2 driver for linux in the near future.

I dont think anyone has put any real effort into CRT guns in a while.

That being said I believe the easiest and best method atm is using a Guncon2 with the associated drivers.

There's nothing to follow.... unless you want to deal with the objectively crappier guns designed to work with an lcd, your options are to find an pc-based gun on ebay and use it... that's about it.  The guncon stuff is a bit of a cludgy hack imho.  Once/if you get it to work then it is a good solution, but if you want something that "just works" you are better off getting an old act-labs gun.
