This is a great thread. I'm in the middle of redoing my workspace and have gotten some great ideas already. Especially for my pegboard arrangement.
Badmouth - I have that same saw and have been considering upgrading/extending the fence as well. Could you send me a link to what you bought?
Thanks!

That's a great work space. I have the cheaper Ridgid saw with the same Vega fence. I use the same tool boxes for my power tools, but I don't have a label maker. I use masking tape. I even have the same foot pedal.

Tip: Don't use your lap as a work surface.

Man... I wish I had more space... you could fit my entire workshop in the space of your workbench!

It is a Vega 40 PRO. (because I might build 39" upper cabinets for my kitchen someday)
I'm not sure whether to recommend it or not. It has worked flawlessly, but the fit and finish feel a bit homemade.
The cap in the end of the tube is identical to what would be found on a roll of dollar store christmas wrapping paper.
I paid $260 from Vega through Amazon and would recommend it for that price. No way I'd recommend it for $369.
Here is what amazon gives me as the original product link, although the description is for an earphone cable. :dunno

I'd say the reviews on there are accurate.
EDIT: I still have the original Ridgid fence if you want to try your hand at extending your fence using that. ;)
