It was a home user machine and the new owner was happy to be able to play a number of different titles on the unit. Would be great to see twin guns work on twin machines with a 2 player link |

That's one expensive PS3 setup... There is no possibility of link play without either modifying the code or buying real Namco 256 hardware unfortunately. I did find two viable options for two players on two separate full screens though. One is to use a vga splitter to put one (identical) image on two screens. Then using a pair of Extron scalers to manipulate each side to make each players half of the split-screen fill their 4:3 monitor. The other option is a video-wall processor. Both options start at around $200-$250 on ebay. I guess a 3rd option is using a PS3 emulator on a PC. Then you could use Nvidia Mosaic with Quadro drivers to get video wall-like functionality. You could use Time Crisis 4 arcade guns on a PS3 with a simple pad hack. I just invested in a Sega type 2 gun set-up which uses the same hardware as TC4 arcade. I plan to use it with my PC, PS3 and a 128mb modded Xbox (for Chihiro shooting games). |
