Any luck with psx to laptop lpt?

I'm wondering if anyone here has had luck configuring their snes/psx type gamepads to work via their LAPTOP'S lpt port?

I have winXP home edt and I cant get my snes gamepad to work, nor my psx pads. Its driving me nuts.  :o

If anyone here has had any luck, can you please reply or email me with details of what you did. When you have some time. ;D
