No Game No Life Bartop Build
« on: July 15, 2019, 06:02:23 am »
Hi all. New here and looking at ideas for my 2nd build I will be doing very soon. Just wanted to share photos of my 1st bartop build I designed and built.

1st off was to design the bartop. I designed it all up in CAD with all the gear I was using in it and then exported the panels out to the CNC software and cut them.

Next step was to put it together. Glue and brad nails and clamps.

Edges and cuts all sealed with glue and sanded, 3 coats of primer sprayed.

All the gear was brought before starting the build so I could get everything in CAD form for the design.

Designed and 3d printed speaker grills.

Made custom wires for the LED's in buttons

Made custom wires for the buttons and sticks.

Putting everything together.

Still need to get photos on it finished and running off my camera. Is a couple of things I would do different in my next arcade build. 1 is the bolts to hold the sticks in place so you dont have the 4 bolts on the top where your hands are.

nice cab and stand. I like the monitor mount.

Your next cab should be a full upright.

Whatever you decide, the next cab should definitely have t molding on it.

That wouldn't be too difficult to do with conventional tools. Designing it would be the hard part for me.

Very clean looking build, nice work. What you use for control board. I'm having trouble telling from the pics but looks like a minipac maybe?

Enjoy it!

Very impressive design, and execution.  It look like you got a nice paint finish as well.  Not exactly my art style, but hey that's the fun in making it yours.  I second Mike that you should build a full size cab next, and damn you really have me wanting to get a CNC. ;D

Thanks all. Yeah cnc comes in very handy. :) Got a Stepmores SM-6090 cnc.

Controller board is a Xin-Mo XM-02 Dual players game controller.

Happy to share files. Just need to finish uploading them.

Yeah I have a 24" monitor and a 17" monitor I can use on builds. 24" I really wanting to do a build like Richie_jones build. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,151537.0.html
And yes T-Molding would be interesting. I do have a slot cutter bit just need to check if its the right size.

17" I been thinking about using in a mini version of a full size cabinet like a kids version.
Got plans from online and have drawn it up in CAD and made some adjustments: https://mega.nz/#!WvpzlQwQ!rx2R7-e_tCks2lnt3IYOy6VItzF8QAypax1MhuE5uPs

Kids like to do big people things. In my arcade room they enjoy running around with their stools to play the big person games.

I never understood why people would want to build a kid sized arcade cab. It only works for their target audience for a brief period of time.

A full sized cab works for everyone all of the time.

A new speed record for broken photo links -- less than 117 hours.   ::)

Yet another example of why we ask people to upload at least their key build-related photos here.   :(
