I made some progress this weekend.

Speaker slots.

I had a small issue with my router control. More wood filler and sanding.

Oh, and here is some straight up cab porn.

This is the first dry fitting. I will need to make some adjustments to a couple of panels and place some more blocking.

I will post some pics of the CP box construction eventually.
Painting will have to wait until next weekend. Of course I might head up to the Oshkosh fly in or I guess now they call it the EAA Airventure.

Thanks Arroyo. I am really not working fast. You are just gauging me by the speed of you and Javeryh. Turtles knock boots faster. ;)

Thanks Laythe. I take it as high praise coming from you. I keep an eye on your builds to see what I can learn.

Nice work so far Mike, I like how you have your various CRTs on shelves in the background plus an LCD monitor up on the wall. I'm starting to plan my new workshop area in the garage of the rental we're in.  I'm going to have to have a wall mounted monitor like yours.

Yeah I found a good use for LCD displays. Who knew they could be useful?

I have 3 monitors on different walls. I use a 4 way HDMI splitter. I have a tiny wireless keyboard with a trackpad. It cost like 15 bucks.
I use it to watch TV or sometimes YouTube instructional videos. I also bring up useful websites. That way I can get the information I need from anywhere in my dungeon workshop.

I'm pretty sure it was a showcase cab monitor. Very few cabs could house it.

Anyway, look forward to seeing what you come up with, Mike!

I like that. Do they all have built in speakers, or just have one source for sound?

Give me a crow bar and a hammer ile make it fit!!

If I had a monitor like that and the room I would make a dedicated lightgun cab.

Playing point blank on that would be bad ass!!

One source for sound?? Pffft.

I have my PC connected to PA amp with 4 speakers I had laying around spread around the shop and a 300 watt keyboard amp with a 15 inch sub.
Eventually I will be upgrading to decent ceiling mounted speakers.

I hear ya there. I tried fitting it into my large atari lightgun cab as an upgrade, as well as my massive IT bowling cabinet. It was too big for both. Since I have a lightgun cab, and don't need a showcase cab, I realized Mike would be a much better suited owner for the monitor as soon as he described his lack of a space issue.

All of the blocking is done. The dry fit is all good with minor adjustments made.
Today I can start with the wood filler and sanding.

Hopefully I can start painting this weekend. Although my Saturday will be occupied with the airshow.
Man I hate painting. I should have laminated this thing.

Sega used a matte black vinyl that works pretty well, but ,should be put over a sealer Imo, since it had some adhesion issues with age....Painting isn't really that hard, just keep your work area as clean as possible, and apply in multiple thin coats.

I am a big fan of vinyl.
Imo its quicker and easier than painting.

Just wish I had discovered that sooner :p
