Has anyone used a plasma (42") screen or other large flat panel screen for their ROM game cabinets? If so, did you have to do anything special to get it to function properly? |

I've hooked up my 57" widescreen, which should be similar. I just use the S-Video out on my video card to hook it up, and it works like a charm. My DVD player hooks up via S-video, so I just grab the cable from the back of it, and plug it into the computer. When the computer fires up, the driver software detects the TV, and sets itself accordingly. I really don't like playing on the bigscreen though because you can't see the whole playing field at a glance, like you can in a cabinet. You have to move your eyes to see everything, which slows your reaction times. |

More importantly burn-in. Plasma tv's are even more succeptable to burn-in than traditional arcade monitors. If a pixel is in the same place for more than 5 minutes you WILL get burn in. Now lcd tv's are a much better choice, but then again they are much more expensive atm. |
