Please restrict Arcade1Up posts to that forum. Posts have been moved. Let me know if I missed any. No Arcade1Up centric posts in other forums now. Thanks!

Agreed, but it's Saints place, so I'm good with it.

The only Arcade1up post I would do outside of that forum is a Project Announcements. If I use a Arcade1up as a base, I am going to put it in Project Announcements.

If the goal is truly to encourage and provide support for the Arcade1Up, modding, and it’s users, I’m all for it. Make it easier for them to find stuff. I don’t see it as banishment or anything like that. Those that don’t want to see the posts, stay out of it. Easy ‘nuff.

edit: redacting my statement. This solution is probably the best we can do right now, till these products soon fall into obscurity. Carry on.

We added a dedicated forum for Pi's because there was an influx of people and posts muddying up the waters all across the forum. That has been the only product-based forum since this. But do we really have that many people coming here asking for mod help for this garbage?

So far it's been a majority of advertising from that shill negative1Up, and rant threads. You don't need a dedicated forum for these posts. Buy/Sell/Trade should host the sales pitches. Everything Else can hold the rant threads.

I don't agree with awarding a dedicated forum for this company's products.

lol. Would you post here if you saw comments like that? It's a hostile environment because of a couple people. I look forward to not having to defend my opinion about Arcade1up and slogging it out. Seems you would welcome it too

It's a bummer it won't get the exposure of the entire community, but it's a small price to pay if it brings some peace.

I give lew credit for mainly keeping his cool and supporting something he's interested in and sees value in. He's not some noob who's just joined, he's been around the forum for ages contributing plenty of value over the years. I wasn't particularly bothered by Arcade1up's to begin with, originally I thought they had some value as a gateway to the hobby. I've grown weary of them since though, mainly just through repetitious posts and constant 'negativity' PUN INTENDED. I don't think they're good quality off the shelf, or any real asset to the hobby as a primary focus of the forum. As Lebowski would say "that's just [my] opinion man".

Hot topics in the main forum draw attention, I click on it, you click on it, of course we're free not to, but human nature being what it is...I want to see what's being talked about FFS!

IMO, saint has made a good decision to sub it into a category, hopefully modding fans can get on with their discussions/updates and critics can ignore. It's not banishment, it's not reward its' just saint's wisdom.

I have to admit though, this whole uproar and disdain toward the 1up is quite possibly some of the most silly business I have ever witnessed on an internet forum.

Not for some because they mainly wanted them here so they could complain about it not being in the right sub or having too many posts here that they couldn't avoid going into to complain about .

Might want to lock this thread as well - so all discussion of them is moved to the new sub - otherwise this will probably wind up being 80 pages of them continuing to rant against them - since they can no longer complain about them having too many threads clogging up this sub forum !

For me I just click the unread posts link so I usually don't even know what sub-forum I'm in. So this change doesn't really make a difference for me.

Since Arcade1Up has its own sub-forum you can now go to your Profile in the Ignore Boards option and check the Arcade1Up box. Now any posts to that forum will not show up your "Unread posts" feed.

Well I assumed everyone knew about this feature. This was why I initially suggested we give Arcade1Up its own sub-forum. Specifically so it could be easily ignored by anyone not interested. I probably could have been clearer in my original post and a lot of drama could have been avoided.

This page lets you ignore particular boards. When a board is ignored, the new post indicator will not show up on the board index. New posts will not show up using the "unread post" search link (when searching it will not look in those boards) however, ignored boards will still appear on the board index and upon entering will show which topics have new posts. When using the "unread replies" link, new posts in an ignored board will still be shown.

Its like a band aid on a head wound, but better than nothing I suppose.

I have no idea why -1 is posting so much about them. I think it was getting a rise out of you guys, which caused you to post more, so he'd keep doing it and then I'd get torqued off.

I was opposed to the banishment at first, but now I'm content. If should keep everyone happy. I suspect it'll die sooner than later.

I didn't even know about the Ignore Boards feature!

I take it back, throwing the A1up thumpers into their own forum and being able to ignore them completely is a good band-aid solution.

Nope, I just used the Report to Moderator feature because Negative1Upper was spamming so much, and he asked for it as well.

No, we're good now. I take back my previous reaction. Segregation is probably the best we can do to quell the "help me fix my A1up" people from spilling out into the rest of the forum.

also for clarity, ignoring the subforum doesn't stop new replies from showing up when you click "Show new replies to your posts."
