Finally started my cabinet!
« on: May 18, 2019, 08:36:34 pm »
This project is in huge part thanks to Chance. It is a 3 generational project being completed by myself, my dad (80) and my 10 year old son.  Knowing that this will most likely be the last big project that I get to do with my dad, we decided to go all out. After much searching, I couldn't find a design that spoke to me better than Chance's Flynn's Arcade.  I will echo Chance in that, if you think you can do this on the cheap, just run. A little here and a little there adds up very quickly! So with no further a do, here are some pics of my progress. Again, Thank you Chance and Damn you and your quick disconnects!!

This took time to learn, but for sure it's one of the most rewarding parts so far....

Coin door... Kind of hard to find... Got it from twisted quarter in Florida.

That is where I am currently at. I am working on programming everything which is proving to test my patience. I am still trying to figure out a good way to have one switch turn on the entire cabinet, including the TV. My plan is to run rgb strip lights behind the marquee and control them through the ipac ultimate. Currently I am trying to get my trackball and spinner working in mame... Arghhh! Shout out to Chance, Andy at ultimarc, Ben at paradise arcade, focus attack, twisted quarter, Ali express, home depot, and some dude on ebay for the random things I needed. Until next time...

I’m jealous you get to do this with your dad. Good for you. How’s he holding up?

It’s looking good. Some of the pics look stretched from my perspective.

It is indeed a wide cabinet. On my phone, it looked like a stretched image, but it looks right on my pc.

Yeah sorry for all of the sideways pictures, I started the thread on my phone which was kind of a pain. My dad is doing OK, but every year he has more and more health scares... This has been great therapy for both of us to get that out of our minds... Time is precious!
