Game Name : Space Dungeon

Settings:
   

Press F1 to get to the settings, press F1 a few times more to get back to the game.


Controls:   
    2x 8 way joystick







Piloting a pie-shaped spacecraft, you must move from sector to sector collecting treasure while avoiding enemies and corner-mounted lasers. The more treasure you have with you the higher your bonus when you reach the goal. A "thief" roams the sectors collecting treasure at the same time, but shooting the thief causes him to drop all his treasure.

I'd have no problem with that, although I couldn't name a good *Space* game. And no, Space Invaders and Space Harrier don't count. They are crap.

Speaking of crap, playing Space Dungeon I have discovered just how crappy my 360 gamepad has gotten after the abuse of the score challenge. The left stick doesn't center anymore, which makes this game unplayable. I have to resort to using the d-pad, which is only marginally better. But even so, I somehow like this game. I don't see me getting anywhere near the high score, though  :-\

This is a good one.
Played a handful of games--couldn't seem to get much traction or develop a strategy.
Only 13,990.

But wow, look at all my big (relative to today's efforts) high scores!
I must have been really playing the heck out of this a while back.
I have a goal: to beat my old high scores...or at least get new scores on par with the old ones.

This is a hard game. Too many baddies, too many to keep track of the map, the enforcer can warp anywhere near you, and too much space between shot angles. Developer myopia. I don't recall seeing it in the arcade. Probably wasn't. A good concept, and fun enough if you put the issues aside. 18k right now. Waiting for baddies to line up to you is often easier than targeting them, but that means stopping, and gets hectic.

Ah hahh. I was intrepid as well today. Almost had a BUN-DLE at the end. Running through rooms and collecting, ending up at or near the treasure room and dying, and then spending the rest of my ships trying to collect get to that room - where there are a ton of baddies waiting. Shooting thief puts out a bunch of treasure. For those wanting to see a run....

Hmm. I wonder if that's a valid strategy - not caring for the treasure, finishing the rooms, letting the thief collect the treasure and then shooting him. The risk is getting killed while hunting him. But at least you wouldn't have that ton of baddies waiting in the room where you died.

A slightly better run. I had twelve items and they got me just before the treasure room. I would've passed 50k at least. And while it kept placing me only four rooms/blocks away, the lot of them were waiting in that room. Note the orange round treasure thing. That's an extra ship the first time round, and another the next time if you return it to the treasure spot. Kudos for the game being colorful.....thumbs down for being messy on the screen, before or at death. I thought Defender and Robotron were bad this way.....

If you let the thief collect the treasure, hunt him down and shoot him, they can't be waiting in that room because it's totally random in which room you catch him.

85,105. Change of tactics. Screw collecting all treasure, I just pick it up if it happens to be in my way, other than that I just go into every room. Managed to clear all rooms in level 1 & 2, got ---my bottom--- handed to me in level 3.

I was wondering about that..... Getting to all rooms is hard just passing through them.

Collision detection when close is Robotron space-warp CITY. We should get opt2not to play this game.

That's two njets for me. Space Encounters looks too much like Space Invaders, the likes of which I don't play. Space Duel looks way too frustrating. I had enough of that in the last two weeks.

Space Duel is fun.
