Help locating potentiometer
« on: April 05, 2021, 08:12:16 pm »
I'm hunting a potentiometer from an old steering wheel. Any help locating a replacement would be greatly appreciated :)

value - 10k linear
Outer diameter - 24mm
Shaft diameter - 6.3mm splined

with a 10mm thread down to the base, though 3/8" would probably be fine.

Looks like a Bourns PDB241-GTR01-103B0 would be about perfect, but while it exists according to the datasheet, i can't find anywhere selling one...

I was thinking a guitar pot might be higher quality?

It certainly looks better than a Radio Shack el-cheapo pot.   ;D

Would this one be a suitable sub?

Cheers, i found that one too, it's in my cart at Mouser. I guess failing the guitar pot that one looks pretty good.

EDIT: oh no wait, i found a slightly better one, as it's 24mm not 18mm overall size. Which means the locking tab should just fnt in the right spot without issue...
