Where do you get the artwork?
I found a Track and Field Flyer online and altered it in photoshop for the javelin guy. Otherwise for the stripes and stars, I eyeballed the font and such and made it in photoshop. I can send you a .png or the .psd file if you'd like. As for the CPO, I found a pic online and rebuilt it in photoshop and then adjusted for the size. I have a 13" x 19" photo printer so my control panel is always a 1/2" mdf panel, the artwork, then a 1/4" piece of plexi on top. I rout the mdf as it we 3/4" and then put on the 3/4" plexi to cover the front and it looks good.
How does the control panel hold in place ?
I put the control panel on a 12" front hinge and it's own weight keeps it down. I never have had a problem with the CP moving.
And why did you build a inner ledge inside ?
I hate doing the rails! The glueing and drilling and splitting.....I came up with a form that supports the control panel on the sides and then acts as the rail for the back panel and also supports the pieces for the top and bottom of the marquee. I can construct most of the cabinet without the sides and the monitor that way. Lastly, I drill holes through those supports into my side pieces at 3/8", then widen the hole in the side pieces to 1/2" and inside carriage bolts to keep it all together.
Why? Not all games have the same shape or profile. This frees me up to create different side panels for different games and gives my mini arcade a cool look instead of a bunch of cloned "weecades"
Oh what's it running on? (Pc etc)
I have a old Dell half tower PC running Windows XP. My frontend is Maximus Arcade. I like the half towers because they fit inside the bartop without having to de-case the whole thing!
