sonic the hedgehog

I remember about 7 years ago, playing sonic the hedgehog, either 1 or 2 (I think it was 2) in an arcade, and i have never heard of either of them ever being released in an arcade. Does anyone know if sega ever released a thing like the playchoice, because this is really bugging me.

Yes, there were two Sega Arcade machines that worked like the playchoice. One of them was a Genesis/Master System based system called Mega Tech, it held up to 8 game choices, and was timer based.   The other version was called Mega Play and it up to held 4 game choices,  called Mega Play, which was Pay-Per-Game Based.    I beleive Sonic was a Mega Play Game.
