Marquee Recreation Info for MvC2 Marquee from a 600dpi scan.
« on: February 08, 2019, 03:20:03 pm »
Hello, everyone.
As I failed for weeks to acquire a high-quality scan of the MvC2 marquee online (here and even on paid sites), my only option was to buy a reproduction and scan it. It is not the great one, but think it could be a starting point for recreation.  I see some people here are excellent at recreating marquees here and would like to ask you all who you all recommend to recreate this. Since I am a very big fan of this game (and I suspect some of you are as well), I want to attempt to make a high-quality marquee available to us for free. Since this would be distributed freely and at no cost to everyone, maybe some of us can pitch in to pay someone for the recreation (vector maybe)? I may be trying to create something already made but not freely distributed (due to business, exclusivity or other reasons), but again, my goal is to make to freely and readily available. Anyone care to help or guide me in the right direction?

Update 1: I am trying to scan the marquee once more for better quality.
Update 2: Scan #2 seems to be better.

Have you spoke to that mikonos guy? He seems to take scans
from people and fix them up. He might give you/charge you for a version if you supply an original.

No, I have contacted him or knew of him since I am fairly new to this site and marquee restorations in general. I will definitely contact him. Thank you!

---fudgesicle--- Mikonos.    Dude is a stone cold thief.

You go ahead and send him your original, you'll never get it back and have to pay full price for the reproduction.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Well, that sucks. I just scanned my marquee in TIFF format and sent it to him today.

What is considered "full price"?

Sorry man I feel bad for mentioning him now. I'd only seen the work he'd done on UKVAC and it looked to be decent quality. I'd assumed if you were providing him with source material you'd have got a free print/hires copy for your trouble otherwise what's the point

Hope you do get something back.

It seems restored.

How much he charged, Joe?

No price given to me yet. I originally wanted a digital rework file but he only offers prints.

It seems restored.
