OK, this is the story of my pack :
Yes ! your mod and pat file were my inspiration, it was a awesome job (and still is). I was mad when I discovered it
Initially I just wanted to place a Sonic in the beginner course you made and nothing else.
After that I have started to change your textures one by one because I didn't really recognise the original Daytona (sorry) and wanted each track to have it's own original visual, with more color, true Sega style.
You have replaced about 200 textures.
As your textures were clear enough to be identified, it was an easy task to guess where the texture would be applied (just a replacement job but a big graphic edition job).
Then I started to add more and more textures over your 200 (from scratch) using the Dump Texture Cache option.
When I had a problem to identify a texture, I painted it in green and looked for the green texture ingame, a good search method. No difficulty here but time consuming, no hacking skill as Elsemi has given the tool.
I have also cared about the textures size to make sure the pack could be launched on smaller configurations and avoid aliasing at some point, and to shorten the loading time.
The pack has now more than 480 textures, all mine (I'm finishing the flags in advance circuit, no more country flags I kept from you but the original ones redrawn).
If it's long it's because the textures are all edited/transformed manually (if originally a picture from internet), or created from scratch. I draw and I love it. There's no random in what you'll see onscreen.
I have also completely rewritten a clear pat file to allow other people to easily identify all the textures, as I like to share and help.
I came late on a project. Gamespek forum was already closed so no support.
I absolutely didn't want to compete or steal anything, but everything has a starting point, you have been mine and everybody knows it
To this day I can learn things very easily, just have to be intested...
(No conflict, I respectfully still make friends discover Nuexzz's Daytona USA ++) We all here have the same goal : share a passion.
