Small pushbuttons on a wooden panel
« on: January 08, 2019, 12:57:15 pm »
Does anyone have pushbuttons they're using on a wooden panel that they like?  I want to use something smaller than standard arcade buttons and they will be used for Exit/Credit so not particularly concerned about response time in bullet hell shooters.  I'm drowning in Chinese options....

I really like the ones I used on my ZD Invader: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,131366.msg1346986.html#msg1346986

Had to route out a pocket for 'em though.

eBay years ago. How many do you need? I might have a handful laying around, I'll check tonight.

ETA: Found some on eBay... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Useful-Durable-12mm-Horn-Switchs-Car-Start-Push-Button-Momentary-Switch-Colour/312379481673?hash=item48bb449e49:g:MkgAAOSw8kVcFHeU:rk:13:pf:0&var=611035444291

I used those for credit buttons on my racing rig.  They tend to "bounce" a little so your encoder needs some de-bouncing code, but they otherwise work great.

Perfect, thanks.  12mm was apparently the magic keyword I was looking for.

Maybe I'll get around to finishing up that bartop now...

These buttons finally freaking arrived.  They were shipped in a plastic bag with a shipping label wrapped around them, and apparently the post office had to think about it for 2 weeks.  Felt like shopping in the old days.

Anyway, they're nice and should work perfectly.
