MK2 is scheduled to come out in May.

Guess you need to learn what a calendar is.

It's called breaking the street date.

i have no clue. but it's not obviously off topic
and not arcade 1up related.

but the countercades are out.

the pac-man one uses the same basic board, but has a separate video connector,
to interface with the smaller screen.

the video review on youtube has the breakdown. they don't show any gameplay
for pac n pal though.

expecting the Dig Dug shortly, and see what they did with that.

You're right, it'd be dumb to put MKII mini arcades for sale the same day MK11 drops.  :dizzy:

I don't hate the machines. I don't hate their users. What I do hate is having 2 threads that constantly get bumped with useless "updates" any time someone farts in the vicinity of an A1Up machine.

maybe if people stopped replying with off topic posts, then you wouldn't have
to post how much you hate reading a topic you have no interest in.

in other news, the final fight brickseek link:

https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker/?sku=593950880

too bad, there's no other arcade related news for anyone else to report anything on.
guess this will have to do.

-1up  Let me give you some advice on how you do a "news" thread.

1.  Just make two or three blank posts at the beginning of a topic.
2.  As news comes in, fill those posts, only saving pics and stuff for the latest news and compiling the rest into some links.
3.  Profit?

it also works, if i had actually started the thread.

which i didn't..

------------------------------------------------------
so final fight reviews are coming in.

so far it seems like the updates on the controls are decent, but not great.

the buttons might be the same. the emulation is about on par with what you expect.

there is a deck protector included,

again, it's probably better to mod it, since adding games natively is much harder to do.

the processor, and sound are still the same, mono.
the monitor is the same quality, which is low.
the artwork might be printed slightly better.

So make a new thread called "I promise I wont make another A1up thread after this" and put your RSS feed in it.

All the hardware is the same except the joystick shafts. Same mobo, same A13 CPU same everything. Even the same side art from the demo model that was stolen from a website instead of getting the factory art files from Midway.

Wtf is a deck protector?  By deck, do they mean Control Panel?  And by protector, do they mean like plexi/acrylic?

Trademarkable garbage words. Although, I guess if a control panel can be an aircraft carrier, deck protector isn't such a stretch from there.

All the hardware is the same except the joystick shafts. Same mobo, same A13 CPU same everything.

where is your source on that.

berryberry mentioned this:
"found that some of the second wave of games will be using different (more powerful) hardware. MK2 was one"

So, maybe they did up update to a different revision of the processor.
until we open it up, and check it, we won't know for sure.

however, the MOO software emulators, will probably be the ones being used,
so it will be harder to alter, or Modify.

shouldn't be too long now to figure it out.

New from BerryBerry about the new machines

Quote
First insights on the Gen-2 Arcade1Up mainboards:
=================================
1. They have prepared for true stereo sound (two amps for two speakers) but didn't enable it. (only one amp chip on the boards I've seen.)
2. They are making different versions of the boards. (Golden Tee has a 12V out for the lit marquee directly on the mainboard. MK2 does not.)
3. No obvious USB or UART pins. I'll have to start digging into those datasheets..
4. Video is likely HDMI, converted to LVDS by an external chip. (May be possible to extract HDMI signal for further processing/use. Could mirror video signal to external monitor, or convert to VGA + add scanline injector + convert back to LVDS & send to stock monitor, etc.)

Arcade machines don't have decks. It is called a control panel. Houses and skateboards have decks. They even screwed up the acrylic CP protector. It goes around the buttons instead of underneath them. If you are going to continue to post here at least learn what stuff is actually called.

Anybody ever buy a pool table cause it looked good, then after a few plays it sat there.

Well that's what these devs had in mind, they are preying on the eyes that go after the new shiney objects.

We all know the quality is ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, the shelf life is ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, but somebody figured out ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- sells and are profiting from it.

So I don't understand the debate behind these 1up cabs, no one is forcing you to buy one, if your on the forum and reading this you can probably build one yourself.  I know my mame cab and bartops are well over 5+  and 10 + years old and none of them look like a dog drug it out to field and gnawed on it with both paws holding it down.

I've come across a handful of these demo machines at walmart every last one of them was not wroking and destroyed.  So deck protrectors or not, its low quality parts materials and construction for 199.

If you got ass wiping money why not splurge on some eventual kindling for your fireplace.

Of course the protector went around the buttons. Under would mean taking things apart.

I bought a pool table because I wanted to play it. I still play it.

Well what kills me is the NEW wave still does this.  I can get them not wanting end users to take things apart, but you are telling me they couldn't put the new ones on properly at the plant?

It is not a deck. It is a control panel.

It is not a console. It is a cabinet.

If you are going to post stupid garbage on an enthusiast site at least use the correct terms.
