CRT Emudriver & MSI R7 240 2GD3 64b LP: Is EDID Emulation Not Working?

Hello,

I recently purchased an MSI R7 240 2GD3 64b LP graphics card on eBay so that I could use CRT Emudriver to play games and watch movies on my JVC I'Art CRT television. To be clear, my exact hardware setup is the R7 240 => Retrotek VGACTV1 => JVC TV. I followed Calamity's guide on installing the driver, opening up VMMaker after installing the driver in test signing mode. I chose the NTSC preset for EDID emulation as it seems like the safest bet for my setup. I chose the VGA output (VMMaker detected HDMI, DVI, and VGA, so picking the correct output was easy enough) and enabled emulation. I then generated and added the modelines as instructed. However, after this point is where the issues started to crop up.

Per the guide's instruction, my TV should be named "ARCADE_15" in Device Manager / Windows Settings, but it is still considered a "Generic Non-PnP Monitor" (as seen

). As you may notice, Windows also detects the resolution as 640x480@120Hz, though it is actually 640x480@60i. It defaults to 1024x768@60Hz before and after EDID emulation, to be clear. I have stopped and disabled AMD's service and checked the "hide incompatible modes" setting. I am able to access Arcade OSD and set the monitor to all of my installed modelines and that works just fine. However, beyond the interlaced 640x480@60i is 640x480@60p and other 31 KHz modelines that VMMaker did not install (as seen

). This fact causes issues with emulation via RetroArch when using CRT SwitchRes on PS1 and Saturn games (PS1 games force the progressive 640x480@60 on bootup, as do Saturn games).

My question, then, is as follows: Did I mess up in the installation at some point? Is EDID emulation not working for some reason? What's really strange is that I had a very similar setup a few months back (using the MSI R7 240 2GD3 LP instead) and never ran into this issue. I was using a different TV, but that shouldn't cause any issues as the GPU is, if anything, interfacing with the Retrotek transcoder, which is the exact same transcoder I used in my previous setup (note: I used a Toshiba 20AF46 then).

Did you also use Windows 10 in your previous setup?

Yes, I used Windows 10 previously. Same computer, same Windows install. I haven't changed any parts since then.
