Windows 10 Emudriver Install - Need help Please!
« on: December 28, 2018, 11:21:53 pm »
Evening all,

New user here, but long-time lurker.  I finally built myself a PC to try out emudriver and am running a 4770 i7 with a radeon r9 380x.  I installed windows 10 fresh and installed the Radeon drivers by default.  I downloaded the correct emudriver package for my setup and went into testing mode to install emudriver.  I followed the guides off Calamity's website and it never asked me for a certificate install which threw a red flag in my mind, but figured this was related to Windows 10.  After the install I created a custom super-resolution ini file and loaded up VMMaker using Admin rights.  Below is the output from the console screen:

  _____ _____ _____     _
 |  |  |     |     |___| |_ ___ ___
 |  |  | | | | | | | .'| '_| -_|  _|
  \___/|_|_|_|_|_|_|__,|_,_|___|_|   2.0 beta 14 by Calamity - 2008/2017

\\.\DISPLAY2 - AMD Radeon (TM) R9 380 Series - No monitor - disabled - HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{A6AAB520-0B0E-11E9-BDD1-3417EB976ECD}\0001

Getting driver information for \\.\DISPLAY1
ADL Library found, retrieving functions...

Connector 2    DVI-D
Connector 1    HDMI-A
Connector 0    DisplayPort
ADL functions retrieved successfully.
CRT Emudriver 2.0 (15.8) found.

I set the preset to Arcade 15khz, under video card tab it shows DISPLAY1 R9 380 Series *27inch DVI enabled* Driver is CRT Emudriver 2.0 (15.8) Method AMD Display Library.  I have Auto selected, unchecked extend desktop and here is where I get stuck.  Under EDID emulation there is absolutely NOTHING in the drop-down list to select the Connector 3 analog output.  I have tried everything possible to populate this list and nothing happens.  When I select emulation it changes it to say current preset is arcade_15 (see below)

Under user modes tab I have get video modes from user list and selected my custom file and changed the mode to static.  I changed the MAME tab to point to my groovymame install and when I click generate modes it comes back successful.  I then click install modes and it processes all 77 that I have listed without error.  My screen resolution never changes on my LCD screen to 640x480 and windows does not see a second monitor, nor does the EDID change from what I can tell (verified in Custom Resolution utility).

What am I missing here?  I've spent close to 6 hours straight and am about to format and try Windows 7.

Ty for any help in advance!

Output of my Arcade OSD which makes it seem like the resolutions are there.  I do not see a way to enable any resolutions under 800x600 in Windows Resolution panel.

I forgot to mention in my last post the issue is when I unplug my LCD and plug in my PVM I am getting a double image because the resolution is not displaying correctly.  I can't set it to a lower resolution than 800x600 on the desktop.

For those googling, issue was borked driver install.  I re-did the entire setup and ran catalyst driver uninstaller, rebooted, and installed Emudriver by itself without the standard radeon driver set.

Yes, I did this once as well. You can not have manufactures drivers installed. I installed them with my hd4350 so I could get some performance with lcd, but figured out when it was time for crt I needed to uninstall them first before installing calamity drivers.
