Currently there is a sale going on where you can pick up the game for a fiver.

They just did an update and the visuals look superb.

Sweet, 1984 version is free too :)   Damn I remember wasting hundreds  of hours on the BBC Micro and Commodore 64 versions  :laugh2: :laugh2:

I've no complaints about the discounted price. However, when I clicked on the link, I was immediately reminded of why I didn't buy Elite in the first place.

The lack of an offline mode (despite promises on kickstarter to the contrary), and the fact that the game has only been released as a digital download (the DVD version is still effectively a digital download) were both deal breakers for me.

I tried it in pancake mode with the HOTAS and thought it was a cool update to the old game.  Then I tried it in VR and was absolutely blown away.  It's easily one of the best VR experiences.

The new Singularity addon from HCS voice packs is really cool.  Having William Shatner, Brent Spiner and Tom Baker in your cockpit as an interactive crew is amazing.  I have five voice packs with voice attack, so Hotas and triple 29 inch monitors make up a cool rig.  I laugh every time I see them.
