Emudriver SAPPHIRE HD 7870
« on: December 14, 2018, 04:13:27 pm »
Greetings from Seville, Spain!
I have a sapphire HD 7870 and I have installed emudriver and groovymame. Except the bottom in vertical games like donkey kong the rest goes PERFECT. I have a problem with non-mame emulators. Model2, supermodel, demul (with naomi goes perfect, with dreamcast fails). I can not use them in full screen. In the case of model 2 it closes, and the rest shows frequencies out of range. I have tried the windows option (I have windows 10) to hide the modes not supported by the monitor, but it is still the same. The drivers I used are (Crimson 16.2.1 for GCN cards) with an HD 7350 and the drivers (Catalyst 12.6 ) everything is correct so I understand that my monitor (it's a TV) is not the problem. What I can do? I am already desperate. Best regards

Are you sure that you have appropriate video modes installed for those emulators/games?

GM simply chooses the best mode from what's available, so will usually just "work", but other emulators typically use specific modes and if you don't have them, won't work right (Disclaimer: I say that generically, I don't actually use the emulators you mentioned other than GM).

Check your help, ini and log files, if available, to see what video modes your emulators are looking for.

Have you already tried to stop and disable the windows service called AMD External Events Utility? Type services into the start menu to get to it.

Thanks for answering. I have the AMD service stopped and disabled. If I focus on model 2, the resolution of the recently downloaded emulator is 640 x 480 (it works, but if I use full screen, it locks and closes). If I configure it with its native resolution, 496 x 384 I believe it in vmmaker but the one that installs me is:
496x486_60 15.81KHz 60.00Hz "10.24 496 520 568 648 486 488 494 527 interlace -hsync -vsync

I am using the monitor presets: arcade_15 "," Arcade 15.7 kHz - standard resolution "," 4: 3 "
What can happen? it is only with full screen
I run out of ideas from so much to try :(

Model 2 crashes if there's no sound output, e.g. if you don't have speakers or headphones connected.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

In my case if I have the sound well connected. Even if I launch it without a full screen it works fine. Before I tried using another monitor preset (I think it was high definition) and if it starts but it looks double (the same image on the left and right) and with a lot of blinking. With my previous graphic it works fine but with the 7870 hd not :(

Greetings. I just tried the same graphics card, on the same TV screen, with the same emudriver but in windows 7 (instead of windows 10) and everything goes fine. What could be the problem?. Not only fails me with model2, also with fusion and megadrive. I need your help :(

I FOUND IT!!! I found the fault !!! just click with the right button on top of the executable and in the compatibility tab, activate "DISABLE COMPLETE SCREEN OPTIMIZATIONS". I hope it will help someone else!

Thanks. Sorry nobody else was able to help. Think the crowd in here gets pretty thin over the festive season.

hello good. After installing atom15, windows boots perfectly from the bios. But now when you run the groovymame what you see in the video happens. What can be? Regards!
