Last year a DVD of this show was released. Caveats are: good VHS quality, and looks great at its native resolution. But it's worth it.

I saw a little youtube video on this the other day, but I don't remember it at all.  Looks interesting though.

Hmm. It was my highlight of Saturday mornings (and Friday leading up to it), and was the last good show on Saturday mornings. It was film quality anime, which I think was WAY over the heads of most of the target audience. Plus, no toy line, which I thought was weird. I wanted one as much as I wanted a Lion Voltron.  Its only equal in US broadcast was Bionic Six ('87), also by TMS.

I'm glad you like the show, but no, no it wasn't.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ran for 10 seasons on just the first iteration of the cartoon... not to mention the 2003 version.  Then there was X-Men, Spiderman, ect.  Basically some of the best animated shows of all time were in the late 80's/ early 90's.... long after this show was gone.  Saturday mornings had great shows right up until the end of Saturday morning cartoons a few years back.

Like I said though.. looks interesting... I'll give it a watch.

All that stuff was weekdays here. They had strong points, but were of writing and animation esthetics full of adult themes yet not adult.

I stress that this disc has to be watched at its native resolution - which I've found with all the disc'd 80s animation I've downloaded checked out - GI Joe, Dungeons and Dragons, Galaxy Rangers... Even all the 70s Superfriends stuff has to be watched at native resolution.

One of the best examples on youtube, though the Japanese voiced version, showing how killer this was.
