Global VR Immersion FFB problem
« on: November 14, 2018, 12:21:15 pm »
I've got an issue with the single pcb version of the Immersion FFB board, and hoping that someone might be able to provide some insights.

It's all set up and working with my happ wheel, pedals, and FFB motor. This problem is, that on some games/emulators (e.g. TeknoParrot, and model 2 emulator), the wheel pulls to the left when steering left (rather than wanting to return to the centre). BUT, in other emulators, such as Supermodel, it works fine and doesn't pull left.

So to demonstrate the problem, if I go into the service menu for Daytona 2 and select the wheel left and wheel right option in the drive board menu, the wheel moves the correct ways. But if i go into the service menu for Chase HQ 2 and go to the equivalent options, the wheel turns left for both 'left' and 'right'!

I've used a logitech G25 on the same PC with all the above emulators, and the problem isn't there. So it seems to be something to do with the Immersion hardware or driver (which was automatically installed on Windows 10 when i plugged the usb cable in). I've read that the power supply can cause issues like this if the voltage is wrong, but I've measured it and it's almost exactly 24v. And I would have thought it would happen on all applications if that was the problem.

Anyone else had the same issue? I can mitigate it to some extent by turning on the centring option in the immersion 'gamepad' menu, but it's still happening.

Any advice much appreciated!

Never experienced this problem on my setup but I have a dual Immersion board, so it might be single board specific.
It’s probably unrelated but worth a quick try, when the OS boots before I do anything I turn the wheel all the way left, then all the way right and then centre it. Also fully depress gas and release, then fully depress brake and release. Without doing this I was getting irratic behaviour from the wheel and pedals in certain games.
