Love Roms and Nintendo seem to have reached a settlement

Looks like the couple that owned the 2 rom websites that Nintendo sued are agreeing to a $12M dollar Judgement to settle all of the lawsuits. Guess they must make more than we thought off those ad revenues !

This is less of a big deal than people think.  Every few years one of the game companies stir the hornet's nest, everything goes underground for a while and then more romz sites pop up.  It's like wack-a-mole.

Yep - I'm just really surprised it took them as long as it did for these guys since they were setting it up for web based play and they were located in and had their servers in the US - most of the sites at least try to stay under the radar instead of publicly begging for someone to come after them.

They probably won't actually pay much of anything, likely just file for bankruptcy.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Was this the same guys that bundled copyrighted roms games in their emulator?

Exactly. Just look at record companies in the 90s and Napster. It slowed down pirating for a brief moment but shot right back up.

Riaa turned to suing people sharing music also.

Mario and Luigi are gonna kick down your doors and fit you for cement shoes if you got them illegal roms.

Retro scene is quite big now and many companies gets lots of money probably so I'm not suprised about legal actions.

They killed one site, maybe others will follow but this there are obscure sites/torrent sites that will function.
