Taito big event golf trackball problems

hello i have a big event golf that the trackball does not work in gameplay but does work when you credit up and select 9-hole or normal...then back to not working in game play??i have the power supply maxxed out at 6 VDC and 5.9 VDC at board...thanks budmannick
