Promax C1000 Flyback
« on: November 04, 2018, 07:32:27 pm »
Hi all, I have a Promax C1000 that has some issues with burning a fuse every time I turn it on, arcing, etc.  I've been told the flyback is probably dead, but I cannot seem to find one to buy to replace it.  The monitor has a Hantarex sticker on it, but I can't seem to find a model number.  Would it be better to try and replace the chassis with a regular Hantarex board?  How could I go about identifying which one I need?  Thanks!

photo of the chassis would be helpful
flyback should have a code on it
replacement chassis would depend on yoke impedance/inductance tolerances, heater current, tube size, frequency and power input

Here's a few pictures of the chassis.  The only stickers that can identify the flyback just say ProMax on them, no model number unfortunately (see pictures).

Pro-Max and Eygo are just another name for a rebranded Wei-ya chassis. Likely a model 820 chassis:

Thanks, very helpful to have the schematic. Do you know of a source for a flyback for that chassis?  Or what I could replace the chassis with?

Alva Amusement in Florida did sell the flybacks and yokes for these chassis. However, I don't think Alva Amusement is in business any more.

I think your monitor was originally a Hantarex MTC 900/E model.

Updating:

The Pro Max C1000 or C1016 is actually a Wei-ya 820H (earlier runs) or a Wei-ya 1820HR (later runs).
