Getting Switchres and ADL library not found errors

Here's the log file. Installed the latest 2.0 CRT_Emudriver Catalyst 12.6 for 5000+ cards and followed the installation instructions.

I guess I missed something in the setup. Please advise.

To add...By Switchres error, I mean the error where it can't find a video mode: "switchres: could not find a video mode that meets your specs "

You'll probably have better luck with the one based on Crimson 16.2.

Just tried it now with these steps with the crimson drivers:

• I uninstalled all modelines
• swapped back to the LCD monitor so I could uninstall the catalyst driver.
• Installed the crimson driver, enabled EDID, then swapped back to the arcade monitor (Egret 2)
• installed the super resolutions, checked game, got switchres couldn't find video mode error again, restarted
• installed modelines generated from groovymame, got over 560, installed 120
• started game again and still got similar errors per this new log attached

I don't think it should be a problem, but I'm wondering why my card is being recognized in the 7700 class, rather than exactly as the Radeon HD7770. It's just a Sapphire GPU.

What version of GroovyMAME?
What kind of monitor did you pick when installing CRT EmuDriver 2.0?

Did you try starting with a freshly un-zipped copy of GroovyMAME downloaded from the official location with no modifications?

Windows 7 64-bit
GroovyMAME 0.202
arcade_15 was selected (monitor is a Nanao MS9)
plugged into dvi-i port with a dvi to vga adapter

Also tried Calamity's d3d9ex build and am getting the same result.

Make sure you have the latest DirectX 9 installed. It can't hurt...

Just tried it and still getting the same issues.

This is odd. Can you see the same error in VMMaker? When you launch VMMaker, it will report something about ADL initialization. Is there an error in there?

The other Switchres error is normal, it's caused by the ADL error.

VMMaker shows the ADL Functions as retrieved successfully unless there's somewhere else I can check it. Here's the attachment.

Go to C:\Windows\System32, copy the file named atiadlxx.dll and paste it inside GM's folder, then run GM and see if it still shows the same error.

Replaced the dummy dll file I had in there and replaced it with the one in system32, no more switchres errors.  Thank you.

So I have one other question. I only have the super resolution modelines now. With the 2.0 emudriver, would adding more modelines from generating the XML in MAME still help for better matching of other games?

My last go of this was in 1.2.

Already had added that dll file along with atiadlxy.dll long ago.

Why? Did you add those in order to attempt to fix this issue or *before* the issue?

I was in the middle of editing my reply above. Didn't think you would reply so fast. That fixed it. Those were the dummy files from before.
