Today I made some really huge progress.

First, I worked on the plexiglass inlay. This made me nervous. The original template was damaged and I had to remake one. Fortunately it turned out well.

Honestly, for this being my first insert ever I'm pretty pleased. It may be *too* good once paint is in there.

I moved on to doing some final pieces and fitting. Did I mention dowels? Lol.

And here it is dry fitted. It fits together well. I'm very pleased.

I decided to start gluing it up. This is honestly my least favorite part of the whole build so far.

I'll move on to gluing up the rest of the cabinet soon. The marquee is it's own animal that I'll work on soon. Originally it was going to be dowelled in too but I'm actually going to mix it up with some aluminum L stock to hold it all together.

Oh almost forgot - I made some holes for the Aimtrak sensor.

Gluing is indeed one of the parts of my project I've enjoyed the least. Impressive what you've done here so far, especially with fitting the plexi.

I'm curious, and may have missed it upthread-what's the height of the CP going to be here?

I get to pick cp height, it's wall mounted! I can’t remember what the usual height is.

That art does look great. I have been tinkering with the art from the same poster (NASA/Mars?). Looks killer how you did it. Looking forward to this one even more now :)
