MAME - 32X - NTSC / PAL filter? - w/screenshot -
« on: October 12, 2018, 07:08:39 pm »
Hi!

Software list 32X PAL version games are blocked and getting paused.
I get the message from mame, see attached picture:

..might not work on this system due to missing filters(s) 'NTSC-U'

I never got an message from mame like that.
I search the internet, found no help.
I looked to the mame.ini and others but do not see any setting related to NTSC, PAL or filter.

What kind of filter is that, where to set?
Perhaps the bios version is the reason, but is there a (Sega) 32x PAL bios?

you're trying to run a PAL game on the NTSC machine when it is not compatible, the on-screen error message you see is the hardware telling you this
the popup message from MAME is MAME telling you that said ROM is already marked as incompatible with that machine in the source.

use the PAL (Europe) system instead to run PAL roms, or run the US version of the ROM with the US system, the game is region locked and doing the same thing in MAME as if you inserted it into a machine of the wrong region.
