Neo Geo MVS One Slot Cabinet DIY/Scratch build
« on: November 27, 2020, 05:50:17 am »
Hi all, been a big fan of Neo Geo for a long time.  I originally posted this build log in the Official Neo Geo thread on Atari Age, but as some suggested I should have created my own thread to make it easier for others to find.  The following posts are lifted from what I posted in the original thread.  I hope this is helpful to anyone wishing to follow suit, if anyone has any question, feel free to ask.

PS: A big thank you to Anthony (FDurso244) and all others on the Official Neo Geo Thread for their encouragement during my build, it certainly got spurred me on to finish this.

AES was completely unobtainable for me as a child, so Sega Mega Drive it was.  I would look at the adverts in my gaming magazines, only to be reminded of the massive costs.

I only ever really got to see Neo Geo via TV shows such as GamesMaster in the UK.

Fast forward, I've finally picked up an MVS board, and plenty of other supplies as I've decided - at this point questionably - to build myself a US style MVS red cabinet - MVS one slot, with CRT and all.

It's a new project for me, something I've not really done before.  Anyway here are some pics, not much as yet, but hopefully will take shape over the next few weeks.

--EDIT-- I wanted to include all of the pics and build on this forum, but it's proving difficult to upload the pictures, here is a link to my build thread over on Atari Age forum should anyone wish to view:

 Many thanks---------------------

That looks really good!  I like that your side art says "NeoGeo System"!  True!   :applaud:

Phenomenal build. I am planning on doing a similar setup myself sometime in the next year. Currently have the MVS board, supergun, a 26" arcade CRT.

Will be doing some extensive drawings first though, basically want to make a MVS-4-25 (ver. 1) as perfectly as possible in original spec.

Thanks for the kind words, it was a great project.  Good luck with yours, the MVS-4-25 is a great cabinet, and you have good options for’new’ reproduction parts to (ie the coin counters, mini marquee light panels etc..,.)
