  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Retropie, i-pac, and coin door switch
« on: September 06, 2018, 06:16:28 pm »
Ok, some background.  So my cab is almost completed, and I just picked up a coin door.  I figured it would be as easy as running an i-pac to get the microswitches working.  I got everything all wired up, and assumed I had to set the controls for the i-pac in the Retropie menu.  I just had to hold the coin door switch and Retropie would recognize it, so I jumped the connectors on the i-pac with a wire to set the controls, and set the Select command on the coin switch.  I figured this would do it, but when I get into a game it won't recognize it as a coin entry.  Even if I unplug all other controllers from the RPi it still won't show a coin entered.

I'm flustered by this as the Retropie menu will acknowledge the coin switch, but not in-game.  Any ideas what I may be doing wrong?

Are you sure you're using a Libretro emulator?

You can try to set the buttons in RetroArch config: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration
