Vinyl Graphics And Ventilation

Hi to all,


Looking for some advice, looking at putting over some graphics from Rockstar,

but concerned what it will look like if I cut out the SEGA logo with a knife pic below?


The other option I am thinking is losing the cutout SEGA in the mdf, and just having solid
back door, but concerned about ventilation. It will be running 5v with a Raspberry Pi, led buttons,
but would this run really hot and generate too much heat to have a solid rear door at all?

If I understand correctly, you wish to cover this with vinyl and cut it out after the fact?  If the top edge is beveled in any way, it will likely look bad.  Otherwise, it can be done, but it would be quite laborious.  Use a very sharp X-acto blade (i.e. new and maybe more than one) while being very careful not to dig into the MDF.

A better way might have been to apply the graphics before cutting with a very sharp, and probably compression bit, rather than the usual up-cutting type.

Another option would be to just paint that area with some color which compliments your vinyl, and cut a simple geometrically shaped window around that painted area.

Yes, wish to cover with vinyl then cutout, but really not sure if it will look that great, thinking of getting rid of the SEGA cutout and just having all covered
with vinyl, but concerned about ventilation as there will be no air to escape the back of the bartop :-)
